BHEL Bags Electro-Mechanical Package In Rampur Project

Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited secured the electro-mechanical package contract for the 412MW hydro electric project in Himachal Pradesh being constructed by Satluj Jal Vidyut Nigam Ltd (SJVNL).

The project is a second stage extension of the 1500 MW Natpha Jhakri project on Satluj River, which will use the tail waters of the upstream project. The Rampur project is being funded by World Bank istockanalyst.

The powerhouse, located in Kullu, will generate electricity utilizing river Satluj at a 119m head. The project is scheduled to be completed in 42-months.
