[lang_en]Shimla: District Magistrate Shimla J.S. Rana through an order issued here today has prohibited the possession, sale, use, transport and import of crackers and other fireworks in Shimla Municipal Area except at places specifically notified for this purpose.
As per notification, in Shimla Town the possession, sale, use, transport and import of crackers and fire works were allowed in Ice-Skating Rink, Ground opposite Gopal Mandir Boileauganj, space along the road beyond PWD parking towards Chhota Shimla on Sanjauli Chotta Shimla road, Khalini Bye Pass near Trilok Chand shop, space near New Shimla Bus Stand and Subzi Mandi Dhalli.
Above order has been issued in view to avoid serious accidents causing damage and injury to human life and property of a large population due to explosion of crackers and other fire related incidents on the occasion of Deepawali Festival. This order shall remain in force up to 30th October, 2008.[/lang_en]
