AGPS Pahalgam celebrates Van Mahotsav day

Anantnag: Army Goodwill Public School Phalagam celebrated Van Mahotsav day, an annual tree-planting festival in India, yesterday, in order to show it consciousness towards the environment.

Students and staff of AGPS in collaboration with State Forest Department organized a grand plantation drive to mark the occasion. About 250 saplings were planted in the school campus which spreads across an area of 243 canals.

The event was attended by MLC Dr. Bashir Ahmad Shah (Veeri), Deputy Director Forest Department, Dr. M R Mir, Range Officer Mattan Mr. Sajad Ahmad and Mr. Ramesha M.L, Principal AGPS, Pahalgam.

While speaking to the media, Mr. Ramesha M.L highlighted the achievements of school students in both academics and co-curricular activities besides throwing light on the importance of the day.

He said “Van Mahotsav is an annual tree-planting festival in India and every citizen of the country should show their conciseness towards the environment by planting the saplings.”

He also stated that the school has a distinction of obtaining 100% results in the CBSE board examination.

All dignitaries appreciated the school’s effort to make students environment conscious.
