Shimla: The Himachal Pradesh High Court on Wednesday struck down a government notification for appointed trained graduate teachers (TGT), other than the recruitment and promotion rules provided for.
The division bench of Chief Justice Kurian Joseph and Justice Dharm Chand Chaudhary directed the state to reply within two weeks as to how the selection to the post of TGT was permissible without following the normal mode of selection.
Barring implementation of an elementary education department notification issued on 27.6.2012, the bench directed that “until further orders, there shall be no appointment to any post of TGT, medical, non medical & Arts.”
The court orders came in response to a petition by Digvijay Patyal who challenged the government notification stating that the State was not giving appointment as per the rules and norms existing during the commencing of the selection process but offering appointment only on basis of merit of eligibility test.
The government notification had made a provision for relaxing the recruitment process TGT to various disciplines by filling up the posts on merit basis of a Teacher Eligibility Test (TET).
The petitioner has sought the recruitment be done in accordance with existing rules.

It is noticed by this time but what about policies like PTA, Para, vidya upasak…………………….. What happened at that time?
Bt these posts must be filled according batchwise as d posts were to be filled of non medical was seven hundred something .what a out d rest posts . Govt .should take decosion as soon as possible. It seems that govt is just playings with d emotions of youngsters who worked hard for clearind d t.e.t . Infact the posts r being filled seniority wise . Those people r being appointed which r outdated n no link wih d education . They gonna spoil d future of tiny tods studying in schools
I just want to ask d govt n high court that younsters have no right to be elected for these posts . If only seniors were to be filled on these posts then what was d need of taking test .take d decision as soon as possible so that we can select our new future and new type of job .
