Mandi: An official of the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) posted in Himachal Pradesh’s Mandi town was caught while accepting a bribe of Rs.110,000 from an accused’s kin, an official said Wednesday.
NCB intelligence officer Arvind Sharma was arrested Tuesday night, Superintendent of Police (Vigilance and Anti-Corruption Bureau) Varinder Sharma told reporters here.
He said Sharma was Wednesday presented in a lower court which remanded him to three days police remand.
The NCB zonal office in Chandigarh has set up a centre in Mandi to check illegal cultivation of poppy and cannabis.
NCB sources said the officer had been suspended and a departmental probe had been initiated against him.
