Shaand Mahayagya celebrated after 36 years in Rohru

Shimla: Shaand Mahayagya was celebrated after 36 years in Chuppari village of Rohru, Shimla, on 20 December, 2007.

The yagya was attended by numerous detvas among whom there was Ghudaaru Devta, Naageshwar Devta of Jharag, Durga Maata of Hatkoti and Mahaasu Devta of Balsa. The mahayaga also included the procession of sacrificing four goats on the four corners of Chuppari temple and then many other goats were sacrificed inside the temple. The Mahayagya was done to sustain peace and prosperity in the region.

The festival ended on 22 December, 2007 with the departure of the Devtas of the region where more than 50,000 people (including the Chief Minister of the state, Mr. Virbhadra Singh) were present for taking their blessings.
