Shimla : The Indian railways will provide catering facilities at busy tourist reception centres and restaurants of the Himachal Pradesh tourism department located in Shimla , Solan , Nahan and the Suketi fossil park in Sirmaur district .
According to the MOU signed here today between the Indian railway catering and tourism corporation (IRCTC) and the Department of tourism Himachal government , IRCTC will provide food items, beverages, snacks at these centres to tourists .
These restaurants are being offered on a monthly rental basis for a period of three years . The railways catering facilities will start from March this year .
An official of the state tourism department said IRCTC facilities could be extended to other tourism outlets if the present arrangement is successful .
These tourist reception centres will also provide railway bookings and online hotel bookings these centres .
