Delhi: Announcing the election schedule for the five states where general assembly elections are to be held, chief election commissioner SY Qureshi declared that election in Punjab and Uttarakhand would be held on January 30.
Considering the large number of voters in Uttar Pradesh and for ensuring a free and fair poll the election commission announce a seven phase poll for the state that would be held on February 4, 8, 11, 15, 19, 23 and 28.
The elections for the North-eastern state of Manipur is to be held on January 28, and Goa goes to the polls on March 3.
Vote count in all the five states would take place on March 4, said Qureshi.
