Shimla : A.R.Chauhan, Pro-vice chancellor,Indus International University,Una has been given the Bharat Jyoti Award for his contribution in the field of education.
Chauhan, 72, was presented the award by Iqbal Singh,Lt Governor, Punduchery at a function organised by India International Friendship Society an NGO at New Delhi Friday.
He won the award for his contribution in the field of higher education, he was given a certificate of excellence.In 2009 he won the Rashtriya Rattan award.He is also a recipiant of the US Full Bright scholorship.
Chauhan belongs to Tharola village of Kotkhai in Shimla district and is a product of the Delhi School of Economics. He taught for many years before serving as Registrar of the HP University for sixteen years.
In a 20 year career published widely. He has worked for the BBC, AFP, The Statesman, IANS and the Business Standard . Known for his hard hitting writing and occasional off-beat stories. He lives in Shimla.
