It is really true that police recruitments in Himachal Pradesh have become hi-tech and police officials always seen over busy during the recruitments of police constables were now just watching the recruitment proceeding in the Chamba ground here, it is for the first time that such system has been introduced by state Police Department to avoid all controversies faced by the department in the past.
For the first time in the Police history of Himachal Pradesh every event of the recruitment was being video graphed. Field activities like physical tests were being monitored and recorded by the officials of State Sports and Youth Services Department and compilations of results on the spot was being done by the officials of state Electronics Corporations in full view of camera. The computerized results of field tests were being declared every evening on the ground. Police officials, most of them from other districts were just facilitating the system and watching the proceedings.
This is the scene of police recruitment ground of Nahan. There is no hussel, candidates who applied for the recruitment were sitting peacefully in the lines, waiting their turn. Under the tight security of the ground no unwanted person is allowed to enter the ground except media persons.
Talking to ‘myHimachal’ Mr. R. L. Sood, DIG Southern Range and Chairman of the recruitment Board disclosed that present hi-tech system of recruitment has been adopted for the first time in the state to make recruitment of constables full transparent and remains no chance for allegations of temptation or favour in the records. He added that a special soft ware has been developed by the State Electronics Corporation for the purpose and police department has out sourced the compilation work to the Corporation. To avoid all the allegations, the field activities were being controlled by the officials of State Sports and Youth Services Department. All the police officers involved in this task have been deputed from other districts.
Mr. Sood said that during last recruitments some outsiders by transferring their names in the employment exchanges of other districts, managed to enter in the recruitment process, after they failed to pass such tests in their own districts, were however shunted out after identification but cautioned the department. This time to check this kind of error the department has declared cut out dates for registering and transferring the names of applicants in the employment exchanges of particular district which is July second, 2007, DIG added.
Mr Sood said that after physical tests of applicants were over in whole of the district written examination would be conducted at one time in whole state through latest system of optional marking of answers on computerized sheets. The results would be prepared by the computerized system and declared in a short period. He said that under this transparent system of recruitment only merit would prevail. He added that in Sirmour district recruitment was going on for the recruitment of 10 female and 94 male constables for which department had received more than 1700 applications. After this recruitment in this range recruitments would take place in Kinnaur and Shimla districts, Mr. Sood added.
