Himachal attracted Rs. 22000 crore industrial sector investement

About 75,000 employment avenues had been created in Government sector during last three years besides three lakh in industrial sector where investment of Rs. 22,000 crore had been attracted and accelerated industrialization was in progress.

This was revealed by Virbhadra Singh, Chief Minister while addressing a large public meeting at Daulatpur Chowk in Gagret assembly segment of district Una today, after he laid the foundation-stone of 132 KV Sub Station at Industrial Area, Gagret to be constructed at a cost of Rs. 14 crore and dedication PWD Rest House at Daulatpur completed at a cost of Rs. 50 lakh on the 14 th day of his winter sojourn to the lower areas of the State and first day in district Una.
Chief Minister said that his Government had made it mandatory to every industrial house that hydel projects get their skilled and unskilled manpower registered with the local Labour Officer as per the employment policy of the State. He said that such steps were also essential to check the people entering into and serving in the State whether they were not on the wanted lists of other States as the State Government was committed to maintain best law and order, secure the life and property of every law abiding citizen.

Chief Minister said that the State had 21,000 MW identified hydel potential out of which only about 6051 MW had so far been harnessed while work on about 4500 MW projects was in progress at various stages. He said that on full exploitation of the potential, the State would be in a position to make power available to entire northern State. He said that the State had ensured 70 percent employment to local people in all the projects at all levels.
