SJVN Commissions 75 MW Solar Power Plant in UP

Shimla: Shifting gears and giving a thrust to renewable energy, public sector power company SJVN commissioned a 75 MW solar energy project in Parasan, Uttar Pradesh on Thursday (24.11.2022).

Chairman & Managing Director Nand Lal Sharma stated that the 75 MW Parasan Solar Power had achieved commercial operation and now, SJVN’s installed capacity stands at 2091.5 MW.

With seven operational power stations, SJVN continues to contribute significantly to India’s growing renewable energy capacity, he said.

Mr Sharma further apprised that 75 MW Parasan Solar Power Project bagged at a tariff of Rs. 2.68 per unit on Build Own and Operate basis had been developed at a cost of Rs 392 crores.

The Power Purchase Agreement for the project had been signed with Uttar Pradesh Power Corporation Limited for 25 years.

Project will generate 168.34 MU in the first year and the estimated cumulative energy generation over a period of 25 years will be 3919 MU. This will result in revenue earning of approximately Rs. 45 crores per annum.
