Dharamshala: The Dalai Lama presided over the prayer ceremony for the sacred month of Saka Dawa at the main Tibetan temple (Tsuglagkhang) on Saturday (4.6.2022).
Saka Dawa, the fourth month according to the Tibetan calendar, is considered the most sacred month in which Buddha Shakyamuni displayed the deeds of birth, enlightenment and Parinirvana.
Since Friday, Tibetans have been gathering at Tsuglagkhang to pray for the long life of His Holiness the Dalai Lama and to receive His blessings.
Tibetans and followers of Tibetan Buddhism observe Saka Dawa by paying special attention to their dharma practice, visiting holy sites to offer prayers and engaging in spiritual activities. During Saka Dawa, the merits generated through prayers and practices are considered to multiply millions of times.
