Manali: One senior citizen from Sahara old age home (ashram) of Kalath succumbed to COVID on Tuesday and 14 other resident senior citizens and three employees have tested positive.
Manali block medical officer, Dr. Ranjeet said that there are 21 senior citizens living at the old age home. The person who died yesterday was suffering from co-morbid diseases and he also tested COVID positive.
The medical officer said that all the COVID infected have been isolated. The health department team is keeping an eye on the old age ashram.

Anita Thakur, the director of the old age ashram, said that Covid’s rules were being strictly followed.
Sub-divisional magistrate Raman Ghar Sangi said that the old age ashram is under the supervision of the health department.
The health of all the elderly is being taken care of, he said. The area around the old age home has been declared a containment zone
The magistrate has urged the people to leave the house only for the necessary work. He said that corona can be controlled only with the cooperation of all the people, so all people should give their support by following the guidelines of Covid.
He urged people not to come out of the houses. If you have to come out of Ol, then wear a proper mask and follow proper distance, said Sangi.
