Dharamshala: Spiritual leader of the Tibetan community the Dalai Lama received the first dose of COVID-19 vaccine at Zonal Hospital, Dharamshala, H.P., India on Saturday morning.
After taking the vaccine injection the Dalai Lama said, “According to my trusted friends including doctors suggest me that I should take this injection, so in order to prevent some serious problem this is very helpful. Other patients should also take this injection for greater benefit. I took that, I want to share that more people should have the courage to take this injection.”
The Dalai Lama office expressed gratitude to the Indian and Himachal Pradesh government for facilitating the first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine for His Holiness.
The 86 years old Dalai Lama has been confined to his residence since the outbreak of the pandemic last year.
