Anurag Thakur Pushes for Kangra To Be Tuberculosis, Leprosy Free

Dharamshala: Union Minister of State for Finance and Corporate Affairs Anurag Thakur instructed district officials to start a special campaign to make Kangra district free of Tiberculosis (TB), leprosy and malnutrition. He asked for ensuring the cooperation of public representatives and the general public in it.

Chairing the meeting of District Level Coordination and Monitoring Committee at Dharamsala on Tuesday, Union State Finance Minister Anurag Thakur said that Kangra district is the largest populated district in the state, and by accelerating the pace of development in this district, the entire state would benefit.

Anurag Thakur said, “There are immense possibilities of self-employment in agriculture and horticulture and in this direction, agriculture and horticulture officials should motivate the youth for agriculture and horticulture by preparing meaningful projects for the use of wastelands as well as food processing plants. The Department of Agriculture, Horticulture and Industry should also make joint efforts to strengthen the economic condition of farmers and planters.”

He instructed the officials of Health Department to ensure the smooth implementation of Ayushman and Him Care Scheme. He also directed the officials of the Public Works Department, Water Power Department to take special care of quality in construction works and said that quick diagnosis of problems of common people should be ensured.

Union Minister of State for Finance and Corporate Affairs Anurag Thakur has directed the departmental officers to expedite the completion of all the formalities for the construction of permanent campuses in Dehra and Dharamshala of the Central University . he gave his directions in this regard to Central University Administration, Forest Department and District Administration. Guidelines have also been given for organizing the meeting.

Speaking on the occasion, MP Kishan Kapoor from Delhi said that centrally sponsored schemes should be reviewed regularly and special attention should be given to quality in development works and appropriate steps should also be taken for timely completion of construction works.

The progress of various schemes of women and child development, nutrition campaign, poor welfare scheme, Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana and other schemes were also reviewed in the meeting.

Conducting the meeting, Additional Deputy Commissioner Rahul Kumar said that timely compliance of the guidelines given in the meeting will be ensured. On this occasion, MLA Ravindra Dhiman, MLA Arjun Thakur, MLA Arun Kuka, District Council President Ramesh Brar, Superintendent of Police Vimukt Ranjan and officials of various departments were also present.
