Kangra Changes Quarantine Norms For Armed Forces Personnel

Dharamshala: With more and more armed forces personnel and their family members getting infected in the Home Quarantine system of Covid 19 care in Kangra district, the district magistrate has modified the procedures envoked.

The notification laid out – “In partial modification of order No. 6473-80 SK/DM, dated 19/06/2020, I, Rakesh Kumar Prajapati, District Magistrate, Kangra at Dharamshala do hereby order and direct that members of Armed Forces (Army, Navy and Air Force), Paramilitary Forces and CAPF coming into borders of district Kangra on leave from places having high load of COVID-19 as notified by the Department of Health, Government of Himachal Pradesh from time to time, shall be put under Institutional Quarantine.”

Earlier persons of forces were exempted from Institutional Quarantine and were advised a 7 days home quarantine.

This modified guideline has come into effect immediately’

Earlier DC Kangra said that there have been 12 positive cases reported on Monday in Kangra district. These cases include four army personnel and two paramilitary personnel.

Whereas the other four are infected due to primary contact with infected army personnel .After these new cases in the district, the number of infected people has reached 423. The state tally is 2176 with 12 deaths so far.
