Dharamshala: Transport and travel being severely hit by the global coronavirus pandemic, a taxi operator here has installed a transparent screen separating the drivers cabin from the passenger one to reduce chances of the virus spread and improve passenger safety in his vehicle.
Commending the safety measure introduced in the vehicle, Vimukt Ranjan, Kangra police chief said, “innovations and necessary changes in daily life to fight deadly Corona Virus need to be appreciated and rewarded.
“Kangra Police appreciates Gagan Gurung from Taxi Union, Dharamshala who has put a screen between the two compartments of his vehicle so as to break the chain of spread of Coronavirus,” said Ranjan.
He further added,’We exhort all taxi drivers and raxi owners to put such kind of screens in their taxis and contribute in the fight against the spread of Coronavirus.”
Kangra district in Himachal Pradesh is in the orange zone and though bus service is not allowed to run, but the administration has permitted the public to use taxis to travel inter district and inter state for emergency purposes
