Shimla: Three persons screened for coronavirus have turned up positive in Una district. In all, health professionals had taken 27 samples of coronavirus suspect patients in the state of which 24 turned out as negative.
The three positive patients have been shifted to RP Government Medical College Tanda, Kangra and under observation at the isolation ward of the COVID-19 dedicated institution, stated an official spokesman.
The state has imposed a strict curfew in Una district and plans have been drawn to do a house to house survey of health status and travel history of residents.
Since World Health Organisation (WHO) declared COVID-19 as a global pandemic, Himachal has investigated 270 persons for coronavirus. Of them six have been found positive, four are under treatment at RP Government Medical College Tanda, Kangra, one patient has recovered and has been discharged.
One patient with a travel history from USA died from coronavirus infection.
The state has imposed a state wide curfew and had put all the 3904 persons with a foreign travel history under surveillance. Of those under surveillance as many as 1511 had completed 28 days under observation, said the government spokesman.
After having declared IGMC Shimla and Dr. Rajendra Prasad Government Medical College Tanda as COVID-19 dedicated institutions, the government today also declared Lal Bahadur Shastri Government Medical College and Hospital (SLBSGMC) Ner Chowk, district Mandi as a completely dedicated institution for COVID-19, where patients would be tested and treated.
