Dharamshala: A Pakistani woman married to a Kangra man was arrested by the police but release on bail as her visa had expired.
Vimukt Ranjan, district police superintendent disclosed that Meena Gopal, a Pakistani citizen, came to Kangra district in 2013 and married a young man from Chari village under Shahpur police station jurisdiction in 2014.
She is living in the village with her husband and her children after marriage but her visa expired on 20th March.
“A case has been registered against her under Section 14 of the Foreigners Act after we got information about the expiry of the woman’s visa,” said Ranjan.
Meena was taken into custody and later released on bail. “She will have to go to Pakistan Embassy in Delhi and get visa clearance,” said the police officer.
