Shimla: Testing of COVID-19 is still to pick up in Himachal but of the 2257 persons kept under surveillance in the state as many as 636 have completed 28 days of surveillance in which they have developed no symptoms of the virus infection.
Chief minister Jairam Thakur after holding a video conference with the deputy commissioners in the districts said that on Thursday 34 individuals were investigated and all were found negative for coronavirus.
So far only 133 people have been screened for the Wuhan virus in Himachal.
To make social distancing mandatory, the government on Tuesday had imposed a statewide curfew, which today was relaxed from 8 to 11 in the morning. The chief minister further relaxed the curfew saying the from Friday, the curfew would be relaxed from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m. daily for the convenience of the people.
“The exemption in curfew is given only for providing the facility to the people to buy goods for their daily needs and they do not leave without any reason during this period,” said Thakur.
The government also decided to close all government offices, barring those related to essential and emergency services, till 31st March.
He also instructed the Deputy Commissioners to explore the possibility of home delivery to the people through major department stores in urban areas, which would go a long way in maintaining social distance.
