Dharamshala: Thirty faculty members of Dr Rajendra Prasad Govt. Medical College, Tanda are attending a 3 day revised basic course workshop about a newly designed medical education curriculum that has been proposed by the Medical Council of India (MCI).
“The workshop under the aegis of MCI is being overseen by Dr. Juhi Kalra from Himalayan Insitute of Medical Sciences, Dehradun,” said Dr. Rajiv Tuli, chairman medical education of Tanda Medical College.
Dr. Bhanu Awasthi, principal of the college while inaugurating the workshop on Wednesday exhorted the participating faculty to make use of workshop in understanding the changes being introduced in medical education.
The workshop is a part of series planned to train the entire faculty for the newly designed Competency Based Medical Education suggested by the Medical Council of India.
Besides Dr Rajiv Tuli, Dr. Ashok Verma, Dr. Amit Gupta, Dr. Piyush Gautam, Dr. Vipin Sharma, Dr. DK Kansal, Dr. Sunil Raina, Dr. Munish Saroch, Dr. Rajkumar and Dr. Shyam Bhandari as members of medical education unit Dr Rajendra Prasad Govt. Medical College, Tanda are acting as facilitators for the workshop.
Arvind Sharma is an award winning bi-lingual journalist with more than 20 years of experience.
