Dharamshala: Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur inaugurated few projects and laid foundation stones of various developmental projects worth Rs. 145.43 crore in Dharamshala town under the smart city project here today.
He launched GIS web portal to provide online visibility to the citizens on various services available in Dharamshala smart city to improve local governance and delivery of local services developed at a cost of Rs. 1.29 crore.
He also launched e-Nagarpalika and smart beacon developed at a cost of Rs 1.17 crore and DSCL website developed at a cost of Rs. 35 lakh to create an integrated web application for citizens to use IT primarily to increase information quality, overall efficiency and effectiveness in government process.
The Chief Minister laid foundation stone of roof top solar power plant of Dharamshala to be completed by spending an amount of Rs. 1.59 crore. He laid foundation stone of smart road, intelligent barrier, free bus shelters, parks and play grounds and inclusive streets.
He also laid foundation stone of root zone treatment of sewerage and state-of-the art potable tapped water to be completed by spending an amount of Rs. 3.51 crore and Rs. 5.49 crore respectively. The root treatment plant involves technology of cleaning the water by soots of specialised plants.
In order to construct and improvise the inner streets of the smart city the Chief Minister laid foundation stone of inclusive streets to be constructed at a cost of Rs. 6.82 crore.
The Chief Minister laid foundation stone of integrated command control centre building to be constructed at a cost of Rs. 24.44 crore which would house the data centre, command and control centre, Mayor’s office and administrative office etc. He also laid foundation stone of intelligent and barrier free bus shelter to be equipped with passengers information system, real time information and surveillance cameras, and smart information kiosks etc. This would be constructed by spending Rs. 9.37 crore.
Jai Ram Thakur laid foundation stone of development of parks and playgrounds and place making to be constructed at a cost of Rs. 3.77 crore. Under this project, theme parks would be developed in the smart city along-with services like yoga places, pedestrian tracks. Three parks and two place makings would be developed.
The Chief Minister also laid foundation stone of smart classroom of Government Senior Secondary School for Girls, Dharamshala to be constructed by spending Rs. 3.55 crore. As many as 65 classrooms would be developed in 10 Government Schools in Dharamshala smart city. These class rooms would be equipped with modern facilities like digital curriculum content, interactive smart boards, projectors, IP cameras, internet, class room furniture, water ATM’s etc.
He laid foundation stone of smart roads for the city to be constructed by spending an amount of Rs. 84.04 crore. Under this project, 28 numbers of different roads ensuring a total 32.63 kilometres would be developed as smart roads.
Food and Civil Supplies Minister Kishan Kapoor, Urban Development Minister Sarveen Chaudhary, Health Minister Vipin Singh Parmar, MLAs Rakesh Pathania, Arjun Singh and Ravi Dhiman, former MLA Sanjay Chaudhary, Commissioner, MC Dharamshala Sandeep Kadam were present on the occasion among others.
