Pilot Dead As Air Force Plane Crashes in Himachal

Dharamshala:  Squadron leader Meet Kumar flying a MIG 21 fighter jet of Air Force crashed at Patta Jattiyan of the Jwali sub Division in Kangra district today. The air force officer died in the crash.

The solo pilot MIG 21 took of the Pathankot air base at around 12.30 pm and was on fire when it was airborne according to the information received. It seems that the pilot avoided the crowed area and crashed it in these fields,” said Sandeep Kumar DC Kangra from the crash site. He further added, “We were informed by air force about the crash at around 1.20 Pm.”

“Fire has been doused but debris are scattered everywhere. No civilian causalities have been reported so far,” said Santosh Paital, SP Kangra.

Chief Minister Jai Ram thakur has expressed deep grief over the death of pilot. He expressed his deep condolences with the bereaved family members and prayed the almighty for the peace of the departed soul.
