Shimla: SJVN Ltd, a Central PSU under the Ministry of Power has posted 23 percent jump in its standalone net profit of Rs 261.06 crore in the quarter ended December 31, 2016.
“The company has posted a net profit of Rs 261.06 crore for the quarter ended December 31, 2016, where as the same was at Rs 211.9 crore for the quarter ended December 31, 2015,” R N Misra Chairman of the company informed.
The company’s total income stood at Rs 616.13 crore for the quarter ended December 31, 2016 as against Rs 554.78 crore in the year-ago period.
SJVN Chairman also informed that its board of directors at a meeting held on 13th February has approved an interim dividend of Rs 2.25 per equity share for the financial year 2016-17.
The company has fixed February 24, 2017, as record date for the purpose of payment of the dividend. The payment of dividend shall start from March 6, 2017.
SJVN owns and operates the country’s largest 1500 MW Nathpa Jhakri Hydro Power Station in Himachal Pradesh. The revenues earned are on account of operations of its three power stations with a total capacity of about 2000 MW. In addition to hydro power, the company is also operating a wind power plant in Maharashtra while it is implementing a number of hydro power plants in Himachal Pradesh, Uttrakhand, Nepal and Bhutan besides a thermal power plant in Bihar the chairman informed.
