Shimla: To cut down long queue’s at out door patient counters at state hospital IGMC Shimla, the institution joining the elite club of AIIMS and PGIMR, premier health institutions, in extending ‘On-line Registration’ for those seeking to health services at the hospital.
Health Minister Mr. Kaul Singh Thakur on Wednesday (29.6.2016) morning inaugurated the new patient registration facility, which would enable all, including those living in the far flung and remote areas, to secure an online OPD registration and would not need to wait for hours in long queues to do so.
The minister said that the e-initiative would be able to provide patients a facility of one week advance registration that would save on valuable time and money for those needing a medical checkup at the states premier institution.
On the occasion Mr Thakur also opened the first District Early Intervention Centre (DEIC) under National Child Health Program.
DEIC program envisages to reduce infant mortality by improving the child healthcare services. Under this program specialists doctors would hold a special children clinic every Wednesday and the centre would provide free treatment of upto Rs 75 thousand to all children upto 18 years of age, the minister disclosed.
