Shimla: Giving clean chit to senior IPS officer Mr. I.D.Bhandari in a controversial phone taping case lodged the Mr. Virbhadra Singh led Congress government after coming to power in year 2013, a local court here dropped the charges holding that a case was not be made and there were frivolous or meek grounds to proceed against the said officer.
Addressing media persons soon after the court gave its verdict former DGP of Himachal Pradesh Police Mr. I.D. Bhandari said that he was relieved after getting justice in three years. “It was a long and frivolous against me and a deliberate attempt to ruin my honest years of service in the state IPS cadre by some blued eyed administrative officer of Mr. Singh, said Bhandari.
I have served the state police with honesty for last 30 years, but I was a victim of a conspiracy, orchestrated by Mr. Subash Singh Ahluwalia, the private secretary to the chief minister and a few junior police officers who have tried to frame me in a false over phone tapping charges during the term (2008-2013) of Prem Kumar Dhumal as the chief minister,” said Bhandari at the press conference.
“I have faced media trial and now that the court has dropped the case, my stand has been vindicated,” said the former Himachal Pradesh police chief, soon after the Chief Judicial Magistrate court dropped the case here today.
Targeting incumbent chief secretary Mr. P.Mitra, who retires at the end of this month, Mr. Bhandari alleged that the top bureaucrat was neck deep in corruption and asked the chief minister to take stern action against him.
Mr. Bhandari was charge-sheeted just four days before he was to retire and his pension and superannuation were withheld. Mr. Bhandari belongs to Ghumarwin of Bilaspur district and headed the state police force when Prem Kumar Dhumal was the chief minister.
