Lahaul Spiti Students Top in Himachal

The students of Lahaul and Spiti have stood first in English and Science amongst all the students who appeared for the class ten examinations this year. 25% children scored above 60% in English and 14% children scored above 60% in Science.

When you compare these figures with the rest of the state, these children proudly stand first. Last year in Himachal Pradesh, the scientific knowledge of children studying in class nine was tested by a National Middle School Education Mission. An achievement survey was conducted under this mission.

According to the result of the survey, the children of Lahaul and Spiti had stood first in both English and Science. The survey also brought forward the fact that the performance of the girls was better than that of the boys. However, the results also brought into light the students’ need to work harder in Mathematics.

SPITI

In Mathematics, the students of this tribal belt stood third in the state. The children of this backward belt fared much better than the children of the general category. The results of the achievement survey also showed that the children of Shimla and Una district were praiseworthy as well. 18.6 % children of Una, scored more than 60% in English. In the English Examination, the students of Una stood second while the students of Shimla stood third. Students of Shimla stood second in the Science examination with Una securing a close third position.

Students of Una and Kangra proved their mettle in Mathematics with almost 13% children of this district scoring more than 60% marks. Shimla stood second in the Mathematics department with 12.5% children securing more than 60% in the subject.
