AAI provides roofing material for houseless villagers of burnt Kullu village

Airport Authority of India extends a helping hand of Kullu villagers

Kullu: Airports Authority of India (AAI), Kullu-Manali Airport has extended a hand of help to Kotla villagers, whose houses were consummed in a devastating inferno on 15th November, 2015 reducing most of the village to ashes, including heritage temples, and leaving most families homeless at the start of a winter in this mid altitidue Himalayan habitat.

Funded by AAI Kullu, 1000 stainless steel corrugated roofing sheets were distributed to 46 affected families of Kotal village, AN Sharma, director of Kullu airport disclosed.

The distribution was supervised by Ashwani Kumar, the sub-divisoinal magistrate of Banjar under whose jurisdiction the village fell.

Besides the sheets distributed at Kotla, AAI Kullu has also constructed 5 toilets for girls and another 5 are under construction.

All this is part of corporate social responsibility of AAI, said AN Sharma.
