Kullu: Kullu hospital has now become the first district hospital in state to conduct a successful knee replacement surgery.
A team of doctors on 17.9.2015 operated a 60 year old patient that was successful in replacing her knee, a spokesman of the zonal hospital said.
Giving details about the operation done, Dr Lokesh, a member of the team of doctors said, “”we replaced Kamala Devi left knee successfully. The patient is feeling fine and healthy now. After full recovery she would be able to walk easily without the problems she was facing.”
He claimed that the knee replacement surgery was a painless.
Other members on the team were Dr Hitesh and Dr Amit and the patient is a resident of Chaung village in Manikaran valley.
Dr. Susheel Chandra, district health officer Kullu told Hill Post said that it was the first painless knee replacement surgery at any district hospital in the state.
He said, “This operation is less expensive here as compared to other renowned hospitals. Besides, the hospital is also conducting spinal operations and the hospital is improving facilities for all types of treatments.
