Kullu: Congress party members and other residents of Kullu valley held out celebrations as news about Karan Singh, the legislator from Banjar, was sworn in as the 12th member of chief minister Virbhadra Singh cabinet in the morning yesterday.
District congress members gathered at Dhalpur Chowk to celebrate the occasion. Supporters lit fire crackers and distributed sweets after the news percolated down.
Sundar Singh Thakur, general secretary state congress committee says, “it’s a proud moment for us as the chief minister has entrusted our leader (Karan Singh) with much responsibility.”
Uttam Sharma, president Kullu block congress, Bhuvneshwar Gaud congress president Manali, Uttam Thakur, president Aani congress, Jai Biharilal, president Banjar congress president joined Thakur and others in thanking the chief minister for inducting Karan Singh as a cabinet minister of state.
