Dharamshala: Budding cricket stars, a young Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association (HPCA) team for the first time announced its entry into the U-23 Col CK Nayudu finals after defeating Karnataka in a semi-final match.
Mohit Sood, spokesperson for Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association (HPCA) here announced, “ the under-23 team representing Himachal has qualified for the Col CK Nayudu tournament 2014-15 (4 day matches).”
He added that this was the first time ever that the team had reached to the final match.
Before making it to the finals the Himachal team along the way defeated the teams of Gujarat, Punjab, Odhisha, Uttar Pradesh and got the better of the Andhra Pradesh team in the quaterfinals.
In a match played at SDRNW Ground, Mysore the Himachal team beat Karnataka by 6 wickets, said Sood.
This has been an historic win and has put the team Himachal in the reckoning for being national winners in the under 23 category.
The final match of the tournament is scheduled to be played from 28the Feb to 03rd March, 2015 against Uttar Pradesh team at Amtar Stadium, Nadaun ( Himachal Pradesh).

At Mysuru: Karnataka 285 in 117.4 overs & 145 in 46.3 overs (K.V. Siddarth 30, R.K. Singh five for 37) lost to Himachal Pradesh 402 in 132.2 overs & 32 for four in 9.1 overs (J. Suchith four for five).
At Kanpur: Uttar Pradesh 536 & 221 for five in 76 overs (H. Asnora 60, Z. Ali 46, M. Saif 38 n.o.,) drew with Kerala 208.
