Solan: ‘MOKSH 2014,’ Shoolini University’s two day inaugural Tech Fest commenced here at the University campus with notable zest and elation observed among the students and staff.
A large gathering of 3,500 students, along with staff, participants from other regional colleges and dignitaries from across the country is an encouraging sign for the organizers at the outset of their event.
For students in particular, the fest is an opportunity to showcase their prowess in myriad creative activities. It is also a time for them to breathe easy and leave their rigid academic schedules for a while.
Enlivened by the hustle bustle of students, Shoolini Tech Fest was inaugurated by Guest of Honor at the event, Govind Pandey, Head Banking, HDFC Bank Northern Region. He was accompanied by the Pro-Vice Chancellor, Atul Khosla, Pro-Chancellor Satish Anand and the management of Shoolini University.
During the two days, a great many activities are lined up for the students. Cultural activities, quizzing, photography, fun sports, and literary and fine art displays, every possible form of amusement and entertainment is going to come alive in a competitive environment.
Before the day opened to various inter-college competitions, Mr. Pandey, in his inaugural speech motivated the students to pursue their dreams and passions with determination. He also added that participating in events such as this, not only brings out individual creativity and talents, but gives students an opportunity to sharpen their managerial skills.
The first day of the fest hence moved on with several cultural and technical events. There was poster making competition, debates and declamation, science exhibition, and technical events that included computer games which were successfully able to lure huge crowds.
Besides, musical performance by Pahadi singer Kuldeep Sharma was the entertainment highlight of the day. Activities will continue throughout Tuesday, some of which will include performances by Punjabi singing sensationJassi Gill and trance party by MTV VJ Chitrakshi.
