Shimla: A school girl was raped by a classmate and another man and, in a separate incident, a minor girl was raped by a cab driver in Shimla, police said today.
The 15-year-old school victim, who was missing from her house for three days, was found in a semi-conscious state near her house in Vikas Nagar neighbourhood yesterday night, police said.
“The girl has been hospitalised,” a police officer said.
The rapist suspect, who studied with her in her class, has been detained and his accomplice Hemraj, an adult, was arrested, police said.
Both suspects were known to the girl’s family, police officer Vikram Chauhan told.
In the other incident, a 16-year-old girl, who came from a village near Kufri to meet a relative in the Indira Gandhi Medical College and Hospital, was raped by a taxi driver who offered her a lift, police said.

Since when we have dropped the use of “alleged” before a reported crime?
Simla is not the crime city of Bogotá, or Bihar, where someone gets whisked by speeding car-borne hoodlums and kidnapped in full public view, that too from a busy place like IGMC hospital.
Let’s take a look at how Hindi papers in Himachal played this story out (the second incident – not repeating the standing facts):
“…At about 8:30PM in the night, while strolling in Emergency Ward the girl takes stairs and goes up to the roof-top — where she comes across a boy. Both start chatting. In the meantime, the girl’s mother also comes up looking for her. On spotting her daughter talking to the boy, the mother slapped her hard two or three times in front of the boy. The boy fled from the scene.
On being beaten by the Mom, the girl, in fit of anger, come down crying and came out on the road in front of the main entrance of IGMC.
Just then, a car stops by, in which a guy is sitting. He asks her why she is weeping and offers her a bottle of water to drink. After drinking the water she does not know what happened, she tells police, and adds, all she remembers is that the car was going in Lakkar Bazar direction. She tells she was taken to a hotel where “uske saath durachar kia” and then the guy dumped her in back to the IGMC hospital at 1’O’Clock in the night…”
