Bir/Billing (Kangra): Ace paraglidger Mr Jamie Messenger of Great Britain gained upon his early lead to with the weeklong 2013 Paragliding Pre-World Cup Championship that concluded here today.
Where Messenger was honoured with a gold medallion, a trophy and a cash prize of Rs 2.5 lakhs, Kow was handed a trophy and a cash prize of Rs 75,000 by chief minister Virbhadra Singh, who presided over the closing ceremony.
Sharma was handed a cash prize of Rs 1.10 lakhs.

In all 107 paraglider pilots from 25 countries took part in the championship which included 12 women pilots.
For having successfully held the competition and for promoting the sport Virbhadra Singh announced a grant of Rs 10 lakhs to Bir Billing Paragliding Association. Veteran pilots testify to Billing being one of the best paragliding take off sites in the world that rivals the best sites in South Africa.
Urban development minister Sudhir Sharma, who is president of Bir Billing Paragliding Association, on the occasion disclosed that the association was placed at third position at the Japan Pre-World Cup Championship held in 2009.
