Chandigarh: Nearly 52 lakh tonnes of paddy is expected to arrive in grain markets in Haryana this year with the paddy procurement process starting Oct 1, a minister said Wednesday.
“The state government has arranged Rs.5,108.80 crore from the Reserve Bank of India for making payment to the farmers for purchase of their paddy produce,” Food and Supplies Minister Mahender Pratap Singh said here.
He said that the minimum support price for procurement of common variety of paddy during this season had been fixed a Rs.1,310 per quintal (100 kg) while for grade ‘A’ Rs.1,345 per quintal.
The produce will be collected at 187 procurement centres.
