Chandigarh: Harayana’s Gurgaon city, adjoining the national capital, will have the India’s first air-conditioned bus stand in the country, a senior official said here today.
“The concept and design of this ultra modern bus stand has already been finalized and funds for the same have also been earmarked,” Haryana’s Director General, Transport, Arun Kumar said here.
He said that the bus stand would be constructed over an area of three acres in Sector 29.
“It has been designed keeping in view the needs of Gurgaon, the Millennium City, and it would have all the key facilities like ticket counters, waiting hall, retiring rooms, office space, ATM, cloak rooms, public convenience, especially for the handicapped, eating joints, book store, post office, medical room, railway booking counter and a room for lost and found (items),” he said.
The proposed bus stand would also become the hub of the city bus operations for Gurgaon and luxury bus operations of Haryana Roadways from Gurgaon, he added.
