New Delhi, July 1 (IANS) It was a sultry morning in the capital Monday with the minimum temperature settling at 27.8 degrees Celsius, normal for this time of the season. The met department has forecast light rainfall later in the day.
“Sky would be cloudy. Thunder development or light rainfall is likely in some areas of the city,” said an India Meteorological Department (IMD) official.
The maximum temperature will stay around 37 degrees Celsius, the official added.
Humidity at 8.30 a.m. stood at 53 percent.
Sunday’s maximum temperature settled at 37.5 degrees Celsius, a notch above average, while the minimum was 25.2 degrees Celsius, two notches below the average for this time of the year.
According to the IMD, monsoon arrived in Delhi a fortnight ahead of schedule June 16. The city has so far received a total rainfall of 119.5 mm.
