New Delhi, July 1 (IANS) It was a hot, sultry Monday in Delhi with the maximum temperature settling at 39.2 degrees Celsius, three notches above the average. The Met office has forecast a cloudy Tuesday with rain and thunderstorm occurring in some areas of the city.
The minimum temperature settled at 27.8 degrees Celsius, average for this time of the year. The humidity hovered between a high of 79 percent and a low of 42 percent.
“The skies will generally remain cloudy with rain and thunderstorm occurring in some areas of the city,” said an India Meteorological Department (IMD) official.
Tuesday’s maximum and minimum temperatures are expected to hover around 36 and 28 degrees Celsius, respectively.
Monsoon arrived in Delhi a fortnight ahead of schedule on June 16, but the city has not received much rainfall since then.
