Mumbai, July 1 (IANS) A benchmark index of Indian equities markets was trading 0.53 percent up during the pre-noon session Monday.
Almost all the sectors were trading in the green, while technology, media and entertainment (TECK) and IT stocks were in the red. The sectors which showed upward movements were capital goods, healthcare, metal, oil and gas and the banking index (bankex).
The 30-scrip sensitive index (Sensex) of the S&P Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE), which opened at 19,352.48 points, was trading at 19,498.70 points in the pre-noon session, up 102.89 points or 0.53 percent from last Friday’s close of 19,395.81 points.
The Sensex touched a high of 19,512.43 points and a low of 19,347.57 points in the pre-noon trade.
The S&P BSE capital goods index surged by 200.80 points, healthcare moved up by 103.85 points, metals increased by 91.27 points, oil and gas inched up by 96.24 points and the bankex moved up by 93.66 points.
The wider 50-scrip Nifty of the National Stock Exchange (NSE) was also trading up by 0.53 percent or 30.95 points at 5,873.15 points.
