Shimla: Himachal Pradesh was rocked by a moderate intensity earthquake yesterday evening, an official said. There was no loss of life.
Tremors of the magnitude-5 earthquake were felt for some seconds in several parts of the state at 7.19 p.m., an official of the meteorological office told.
The epicentre of the quake was on the border of districts of Chamba and Lahaul-Spiti, bordering Jammu and Kashmir.
This hill state was rocked by low intensity earthquakes four times between June 5 and 6.
The epicentre of all the quakes at that time was also as on the border of districts of Chamba and Lahaul-Spiti.
