Rome, July 3 (IANS/AKI) Police at Rome’s Fiumicino airport arrested three people carrying 22 kg of cocaine as they came in a flight from Brazil.
The drugs are estimated at over five million euros.
A Cypriot and a Ukrainian had hidden the drugs beneath false bottoms in the luggage they checked into the aircraft’s hold.
The third suspect, a Brazilian who said she was on a pilgrimage to Italy, had concealed the narcotics in her hand-luggage.
