Trelawny (Jamaica), June 8 (IANS/CMC) Wellesly Bolt, the father of sprint legend Usain Bolt, was robbed of cash amounting to a little less than half a million Jamaican dollars.
The money was stolen from his Toyota pick-up truck parked in the vicinity of the Falmouth Municipal Market in North West Jamaica around 10 a.m., the Jamaican media quoted Bolt’s father as saying Friday.
He told the Jamaica Observer that the money was stolen minutes after he left a commercial bank.
“Someone apparently was trailing me,” he said, adding that the robber gained entry to the vehicle by breaking the window on the driver’s side of the vehicle.
The matter has been reported to the Falmouth Police.
