Gurgaon: Three people were arrested for robbing passengers on the pretext of giving them lift in their vehicle from IFFCO Chowk here on Delhi-Gurgaon Expressway, police said Thursday.
Inderjeet and Hanuman, residents of Haryana’s Rewari district, and Monu, a resident of Bhiwani district, all in their mid-20s, were arrested Wednesday night from sector 17.
They were also involved in several other incidents of robbery in Haryana and Rajasthan, police said, adding that a local court Wednesday sent them to police custody for three days.
Inderjeet is a graduate while Hanuman and Monu have studied till Class 12, police said.
“On June 15, the three abducted two private firm executives, Dinesh Yadav and Suresh Kumar, and robbed Rs.28,000 and credit cards from them,” Deputy Commissioner of Police (Crime) Rajesh Duggal told reporters.
The victims were offered a lift from IFFCO Chowk, police said.
In January, the accused offered lift and robbed two passengers from IFFCO Chowk in a car that was stolen from Rajasthan’s Alwar district, police said.
They also stole a car from Loharu near Bhiwani and another car from Neemrana in Rajasthan, Duggal said.
