Tennis: Mohammed puts out Kannan

Chennai, June 5 (IANS) Faiz Mohammed ended former National champion Vijay Kannan’s run with a hard-fought 7-6(4), 1-6, 6-1, win to enter the singles quarterfinals of the BR Adityan-GNC ITF Men’s Futures tennis tournament here Wednesday.

Also through to the round of eight were top four seeds Sriram Balaji, Jeevan Nedunchezian, Vijayant Malik and Japan’s Toshide Matsui.
