New Delhi, June 29 (IANS) It was a warm, sunny morning in the capital Saturday with the minimum temperature settling a notch above average at 28.5 degrees Celsius. The Met Office has forecast rain in parts of the city in the evening.
“An overcast sky is expected after noon. Parts of the city may get rain in the evening,” an official of the India Meteorological Department (IMD) said.
The day’s maximum temperature will hover around 36 degrees Celsius, added the official.
Friday was sunny and humid. The maximum temperature settled at 37.1 degrees Celsius – average for this time of the season, while the minimum settled two notches below the season’s average at 25.9 degrees.
According to IMD, monsoon arrived in Delhi a fortnight ahead of schedule June 16. The city has so far received a total rainfall of 115.3 mm.
