Chennai, June 9 (IANS) Anand Gandhi’s critically acclaimed directorial venture “Ship of Theseus”, which travelled to more than eight film festivals across the globe, won the best film award at the 12th Transylvania International Film Festival.
“(I’m) confirming that ‘Ship of Theseus’ has been awarded Best Film at Transylvania International Film Festival. Thank you for this honour,” posted the film’s director Anand Gandhi on his Twitter page.
The Transylvania fest ended Saturday.
Recently picked up by Kiran Rao, who is releasing the film in association with UTV Motion Pictures in India July 19, “Ship of Theseus” has already been premiered at the Toronto International Festival and was later screened at Tokyo Film Festival, BFI London Film Festival, among many more.
A story about human values, “Ship of Theseus” features three characters – an experimental photographer, ailing intellectual monk and a stock broker.
The film features an ensemble cast of Aida Elkashef, Neeraj Kabi, Sohum Shah, Amba Sanyal, Faraz Khan, Vinay Shukla and Sameer Shukla.
