New Delhi/Mumbai, June 11 (IANS) The rupee Tuesday continued to fall against the dollar and was at Rs.58.65 against a dollar during mid-day session. It opened at Rs.58.30.
The rupee touched the day’s low of Rs.58.95 Tuesday and with the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) not intervening yet, importers rushed to procure their future dollar needs.
The Indian rupee registered its biggest fall in almost two years Monday when it slumped to below 58 against a dollar for the first time on escalating worries over current account deficit and firming of the US currency globally.
