New Delhi, June 20 (IANS) It was a pleasant morning in the capital Thursday with the minimum temperature settling at 25.3 degrees Celsius, three notches below average for this time of the season. The Met Office has forecast a partly cloudy and humid day ahead.
“The sky will be partly cloudy. There has been no rain so far and none is expected during the day. The humid weather is likely to continue,” an official at the India Meteorological Department (IMD) said.
The maximum temperature is likely hover around 37 degrees Celsius, the IMD official added.
Humidity recorded at 8.30 a.m. stood at 69 percent.
According to IMD, a total of 113 mm of rainfall has been recorded in Delhi since the arrival of monsoon over the city Sunday — a fortnight ahead of schedule.
The monsoon this year had set over Kerala June 1 as expected and advanced fast, covering the southern, eastern and central states within two weeks.
Wednesday’s maximum temperature dipped two notches below average at 35.5 degrees Celsius, while the minimum settled three notches below average at 24.8 degrees Celsius.
