New Delhi, June 15 (IANS) Maruti Suzuki Saturday launched the CNG (compressed natural gas) powered variant of its seven seater utility vehicle Ertiga, priced between Rs.6.52 lakh and Rs.7.30 lakh.
“Ertiga Green, with a factory fitted CNG system, is another step of Maruti Suzuki to meet today’s need of our customers,” said Manohar Bhat, vice president (Marketing), Maruti Suzuki.
“With the Ertiga Green our customers will be able to enjoy lower running costs and also take advantage of Maruti Suzuki’s vast service network across the country.”
According to the company, Ertiga will now be available in all three fuel variants –CNG, petrol and diesel. The CNG offers a mileage of a 22.80 Km per one Kg of CNG.
Over 87,000 Ertiga units have been sold since its launch in April 2012.
The new CNG powered variant is with i-GPI (intelligent-gas port injection) technology which delivers calibrated quantity of fuel to the engine, leading to more efficient fuel usage.
The company added that Ertiga Green is the sixth vehicle from its stable with factory fitted CNG segment. Other five vehicles with factory fitted CNG kit include Alto, Wagon R, Eeco, SX4 and Estilo.
“Ertiga Green will be available in states with CNG infrastructure including Delhi NCR, Gujarat, Mumbai, Pune, and parts of Andhra Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh and Madhya Pradesh,” the company said in a statement.
